Elite Accredited Netball Coach

Michelle Whyatt

Michelle Whyatt is an Elite Accredited netball coach with 30 years of experience across association, SWNFL, regional, WANL and State-level netball. She has coached from NetSetGO through to senior competition, with a particular passion for developing athletes aged 14 to 18 and preparing them for higher-performance environments. Her experience includes numerous finals campaigns, five WANL Grand Final campaigns, and selection roles across all levels, including State teams.

A tactical and strategic coach, Michelle takes a strengths-based approach to athlete and team development. She focuses on breaking down and rebuilding skills, turning strengths into genuine weapons, and expanding individual and collective “toolboxes” to develop intelligent, adaptable athletes and teams capable of performing under pressure.

A lifelong learner, Michelle draws on netball philosophies from around the world and ideas from other high-performance sports to continually challenge and evolve her coaching practice. She is equally passionate about developing coaches, mentoring across South West and Perth-based netball and supporting coaches to progress their practice and attain accreditation.

Michelle believes high performance is not about coaching every athlete to be the same. It is about understanding what each person brings, developing their strengths into genuine weapons, expanding their toolbox and bringing those capabilities together to create confident, connected and high-performing teams.
